A Missing Part Of Life
I happen to know a boy, who's just about my age,
Whose life is full of sadness, fear, and rage.
His mother is on drugs, but he seems to be the one to pay the price,
Knowing that she's far away - because of crack and ice.
For this child is lost, without the love of his mother,
And the saddest part about it all,
is she can never be replaced with any other.
He must feel all alone, without her tender loving care,
And always thinking day by day, why she isn't there.
It gets hard growing up, without her to rely on,
And it seems even more painful knowing
her shoulder's not there to cry on.
He knows he has the comfort of his family and his friends,
And they're hoping that he knows
they'll have the warmest hearts to lend.
And if someday and somehow -
the boy and his mother are reunited again,
His life will be at peace, and his nightmare will be at an end.
