On an island where the warm winds blow
And lotus flowers, by the rivers, grow;
Where dragonflies, on the mountains, glow
I met her there not long ago

Beautiful thinker, a caring heart.
I swam in feelings of elation.
We couldnt bear to be apart
Whilst in the spring of our relation.

Deep conversations until the morning light;
I heard her voice, and I dreamt of her all night.
I clenched my pillow like I was holding her tight
And everything felt so right.

Were together,
Stay forever.

But light is dark and dark is light
The apple of our creation
Right is wrong and wrong is right
It could not last, this sweet sensation.

And on an island where the fierce winds blow
And a gray sky puts on its constant show,
Drowning flowers in an overflow;
It was there, I had to let her go.
