The voting was spearheaded by the scary and strong anti-MIA Alliance. The voting block, consisting of members Brian Eick, Kevin Eick, Bill Timmann, Jason McDevitt, and Tricia Payne was instrumental in ridding the island of the beloved Shea. "Of course I voted for him," Tricia said calmly after Tribal Council. "He needs to get on with the wedding preparations, and he can't do it on this island."
On the first cramped night in the shelter, Melissa Latteman was heard to complain about the overcrowding. "I wanted to get up and go to the head in the middle of the night but there was too many people in the way. Too many bodies in a small space. I don't like it. It's like being back at home."
In the often Machiavellian world of Survivor, Shea was seen by many as a warm, calming presence, "because he definitely wasn't bringing any energy to this" put in Eric Eick. But after he failed to win immunity, Shea's time was limited. As a driving rain pelted the island, the Tribal Council votes against him piled up. By the third vote he was shaking his head in recognition - the Alliance was very strong.
"Grab your torch, Shea," he heard a few moments later. "It's time for you to go" smiled their smarmy host, Jeff Probst.
"Asta-la-bye-bye!" chimed in Bill Timmann.
Kevin's fighter and Scott's elf are buddying up, much to the chagrin of Brian's halfling. He's really come to depend on Kevin's fighter for friendship and to reach things on the top shelf. His new friendship with Scott has left Brian adrift. Kevin thinks he's more of a Survivor than Brian for being so pliable. "Besides, an elf is a tougher companion than a halfling." Brian thinks changing one's alignment to adapt to the group is morally incorrect. Only the DM will determine who's right.
As for Shea's satyr...
Melissa's elf lightning bolted him to his death. "It's all part of the game," she says with a shrug. "He was trying very hard, but the gargoyle just wasn't taking any damage, and there's no way I was going to let it get close enough to hit ME. I've got barely more hit points than minimum!"
The challenge? A combination breath-holding competition and underwater swim race. While Jay's dwarf doesn't swim well, his excellent constitution enabled him to easily win the breath-holding contest. Kevin's fighter would have won, but a vengeful halfling made weird faces right in front of him, causing him to lose his breath.
2 Votes for Bill.
Eric Pierson voted for him, because Bill gets on his nerves. Melissa wanted to vote for Jay, but Jay won immunity. Bill seemed like a good second choice at the time.
2 Votes for Eric Pierson.
Eric Eick voted for the other Eric, "because it's too confusing when you hear somebody say `Eric' around here. And besides, he never answers emails." Scott initially wanted to vote for Jay, since he was still angry about his elf being blinded by a previous character of Jay's, but that has no bearing on Jay's current dwarf character. "Besides, he won immunity." So why did he vote for Eric Pierson? "I don't know him."
1 Vote for Kevin Eick
Shea Ryan voted for Kevin Eick, because it was the first thing that came to his mind. He thought it would be pretty funny, because the vote took place on a Monday.
The voting is definitely the hardest part of the game. I liked Kevin, I understood him and I could work with him. The only reason I voted for Kevin was because it would be really funny, uh... being a Monday and all, and up until the last minute he was a good one to go. It came down to where we had to vote for people, so I had to put everybody in a lineup and pick somebody out. It was a difficult job... ah, oh gosh...
There is nobody I could say I was glad that person went, since I'm the first one off. I thought Bill and I would conflict a little bit, since everyone else conflicts with him. Personally I liked Bill in the time I got to talk to him. There was nobody I had a conflict with. Huh...
Well it's my initiative. I came, I saw and I didn't conquer. But I had a great time playing, and I'm really glad I came. It was pleasantly beautiful...?"
