Okay, we’ll start this off pretty simply.
There are 6 basic stats (Strength, Speed, Endurance, Intelligence, Courage, and Skill).
Roll % dice 6 times. Start recording when you roll 81% or better.
When you roll the six percentile rolls, assign them to Strength, Speed, Endurance, Intelligence, Courage, and Skill in whatever order you like.
Add Strength, Speed, Endurance, Intelligence and Courage (but not Skill) together.
This is your Life Point Total (aka hit points).
When it reaches 20, you are unconscious. At 0, you die.
Add Courage and Speed.
This is your First Strike Capacity (initiative order).
Your basic to hit number is a 50.
You must roll 50% or higher on percentile dice to hit.
Next, roll percentile dice.
This is the number of gold libra coins you start off with.
Character type and nationality...
You have two choices- either a completely random roll, or you may choose to be a Roman gladiator, hoping to one day fight in the arena under the eye of the Emperor Caligula.
If you choose to roll randomly, roll 1d100 three times and send me the results.
But if you choose to be a gladiator...
Record the following somewhere.
Nationality: Roman
Class: Gladiator
Prime Ability: Combat
There are six types of gladiators; each utilizes different armor, weapons, and fighting styles. Choose one you specialize in. You are trained in all styles, but fight best in one particular style. Note that you do NOT possess any of these items yet- they'll be supplied during the games, or you can spend your gold libra to purchase your own equipment. (If you can't make up your mind among the types, just roll a d6.)
Finally, flesh your gladiator out- name, etc.
That’ll pretty much do it!
