� Bodnath Stupa is another important stupa in Nepal. It is at about 3 km north from Kathmandu. Bodnath Stupa is very grand; it stands right out from the houses around; it is the biggest stupa in the world. This is a place the Tibetan believer doing their daily prayer. The Buddha eyes on the stupa have three different colors - Red, Blue and White.� �

The Bothnath Stupa building structure is based on the design from the Mandala pattern. Around the base of stupa, there are 108 small shelves; there is a small sculpture of Buddhan Amitobha in everyone. In the round wall of the stupa, there are another 147 shelves, in every shelf there are four to five pieces of prayer bell. During the pray, the prayer will walk clockwise around the stupa, reading the scripture and turn the prayer bell.

� Other than shopping in the souvenir shops, is a good idea to have a drink or a meal at the rooftop restaurant around the stupa. From the rooftop, you will a spectacular view and detail architecture of the Bodnath Stupa. �

� Around the stupa, there are a few Gompa. In one of it, I saw the Lamas reading the scripture. I also found one huge prayer bell at the entrance; it is so big that you have to walk around it to turn it clockwise when doing the prayer. 　 　 　 Back
