Reflection on Growth During 10th
Grade English Class
This year in English class I learned a ton from Mr. Domingo and his excellent English teaching tactics. He has to be one of the greatest teachers ever. As you will see in reading my papers, I improved much in my writing, expanding my vocabulary and providing more details for my arguments (2 of the things I had problems with last year).
English was quite
interesting this year. I read several
interesting stories in this class, including The Tragedy of Julius Caesar
and Titus Andronicus, both interesting (and gory) books in their own
right. The class wrote research papers,
analyzing origins and outside affects on a piece of literature. I bended the rules (with permission from
teacher), and wrote on the origins and outside influences of Star Wars. It was very interesting learning about the
origins of this film; I had previously not realized that it was based off of
many other things. I grew to appreciate
the work George Lucas put in to make his masterpiece. I learned much this year in my Pre AP English
class that I will be able to take with me as I go throughout my scholastic and
professional career.
