ROARING CAMP & BIG TREES RAILROAD - PAGE 2
The ride travels over steep grades, trestles, and 2 switchbacks through dense forests  At the end of the line, passengers may disembark to get a closer look at the magnificent Coastal Redwoods.
The engineer awaits the next journey.  The Railroad was making 3 round trips a day.
Roaring Camp and Big Trees also operates a 2 truck Shay locomotive.  The Shay is another type of geared engine, but has 3 cylinders mounted vertically on the right side of the boiler.  An example of this type of locomotive appears at Railtown 1897.
