RAILFANNING - PAGE 4
BNSF Eastbound crossing the Canyon Diablo Bridge, 30 miles east of Flagstaff, Az.

Those are the Snow Capped San Francisco Peaks in the background, elevation 12,000'.

Taken on a weekend excursion up from Tucson, January of 1998.
Laramie, Wyoming.  May 28, 1997.  This is the lawn adjacent to the Depot.

This was an exciting 4 day road trip.  More pictures from the excursion will appear in the future.
Cienega Creek again, April 1997.

This is the eastbound Sunset Limited crossing the high bridge.  Although the bridge usually sees Westbound traffic, high priority eastbounds also use it due to the higher allowable speeds than on the lower canyon trackage.
Kirkland, Az. on the Phoenix Sub, also known as the 'Peavine'.

Taken in August of 1997, we had to make a 'wrong turn' in order to get 'stuck' at the crossing, allowing me to get this shot.

The Santa Fe Depot in Flagstaff, Arizona doesn't see nearly as many passenger trains as it once did, but freight traffic is as busy as ever.

The Southwest Chief stops here twice each day, both scheduled nightime stops.  This is an eastbound train of empty piggyback cars.
