August 2-6, 2004  This week we learned about the OCEAN.  Books we read: The Copy Cat Fish by Marcus Pfister The Foolish Tortoise by Richard Buckley and Eric Carle A House for Hermit Crab by Eric Carle Projects we did: Stamping Pictures We made fabulous sea pictures. We dipped stamps of different sea animals into glitter paint, and made beautiful prints on our papers. Hermit Crabs We decorated the shell of a Hermit Crab. They came out very colorful, a nice, new home for Hermit Crab. Tortoise We colored our tortoise shells green, and added legs and a head. They are just so cute! Songs we sang: Ten Little Fishies (to the tune of "Ten Little Indians") One little, two little, three little fishies, Four little, five little, six little fishies, Seven little, eight little, nine little fishies, Ten little fishies swimming at the shore. Please note that if your child doesn�t come every day, he or she may not have done all of the projects that week.  |
