Evelyn and Jonathan's surname was based on that of one of the discoverers of Tutankhamen's tomb, Lord Carnarvon. His daughter's name was Evelyn.

Patricia Velazquez's costume was mostly body paint.

Actor John Hannah Broke his wrist during filming of The Mummy.

University College London was used for the external shots of The British Museum.

Imhotep was a real person!  He was an architect, a high priest, and a doctor.

Brendan Fraser passed out while filming the hanging scene in The Mummy because the noose was too tight.

Ardeth Bay was the name the mummy used in the original 1933 film.

To use the Tower Bridge for filming it had to be closed for 10 minutes at a time, causing traffic jams.

Rachel Weisz does not like camels, yet John Hannah does.

Ardeth was originally suposed to die in the first film.

During rehersals, the actors who played Imhotep's priests changed the chant in the beginning of The Mummy to "whatanarseyouare" and it was still said that way in the film. Possibly both films!

Steven Sommers, the director, makes a cameo in The Mummy Returns, sitting in a bath tub at The Magic Carpet.
