| Egypt have QUALIFIED!!! - 5th July 2003 Mdagascar 0 - 2 Mauritius Egypt has reached the finals in Tunisia next year. Madagascar had been outplayed by neighbouring islanders Mauritius and beat them infront of their home supporters in Antananivaro 0 - 2 to put the Pharoahs back into the competition for the 11th time in succession. |

| Bad news for the Pharoahs after their victory over Madagascar |
| Egyptian coach Mohsen Saleh handed in his resignation to FIFA last week after the team's match on Friday last. Luckily for the Pharoahs, FIFA declined his resignation and Saleh has no choice but to continue training the team. |

| The Sixteen finalist are confirmed for ACN Tunisia 2004 - 8th July 2003 The group qualification matches began in September 2002 and were concluded in July 2003.The 16 finalists are: host Tunisia, holders Cameroon, Egypt, Nigeria, Guinea, Benin, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, Senegal, Congo DR, South Africa, Algeria and Rwanda. Zimbabwe, from Group six got the second best team position. Benin, Rwanda and Zimbabwe are making their first ever appearance in the competition, while Kenya is making a first appearance since 1992. |
