Pharaoh RamsesII (The Great) was a powerful leader in the 19th dynasty. He was the son of Seti I and the grandson of RamsesI, the founder of the 19th dynasty. Ramses ruled for 64 years, beginning around 1250 b.c., one of the longest Egyptian reigns ever. He is famous for his many monuments, escpecially the temple at Abu Simbel, with four grand larger than life statues of himself. |
