Tribute Poetry in Honor of:
Loved Ones
Poetry by EGP LAST CALL

I'm sorry for the fight I caused
As you began to pack
I realize now how wrong I was
I want to take it back

I love you, Mom
I really do
I want you to come home
I know it'll be alright
Please, stay on the phone

Why did they have to choose your flight?
Why not choose another?
I know it makes no difference now
But I need you
My mother

How can this be happening?
It must be a bad dream
What was that sound?
What was that noise?
It sounded like a scream.

Mom?
ANSWERED PRAYERS

Whispers floated through those golden gates
And landed in his ears
They told Him of the struggles you faced
The outcome your children feared
How could a God, who loves so much
Curse you with this pain?
Hide the sun for, oh, so long
And shower us with rain
Alas, he had his reasons
And now I think I know
He felt we needed a reminder
Our love we needed to show
He heard our tears, answered our prayers
And blessed us once again
Now your future is looking bright
Our thanks we need to send
God has given us a second chance
To enjoy our simple lives
With everyday that you remain
One more day the sun can rise.
