“As the Snow Drifts”

The snow drifts to the ground
From its home in the cold winter sky.
The gentle wind moves the snow
In a delicate dance.
In my silence and solitude,
I sit upon the lone, sheltered rock
Watching the swirls of icy white.
My thoughts drift, as the snow
To thoughts of you.
The chilling wind, the biting cold,
All leave my mind.
In an instant, the snow stops
And the sun sets the world
In brilliant white.
I pause to gaze at the tranquil scene
Before I leave and move on
To new days, with new hope.
With the grace of God,
A new life.
