“The Light”

I am white, though I hide
My true colors.
I shine upon the dwellers in the dark,
Illuminating with clarity.
I speak no ills, I feel no strife,
But I show those with eyes to see
Truthfulness in a realm of lies,
Only to be consumed
By the dark.

Now I am a fire, dancing
With the cool winter night,
Sending light and heat
Like javelins into the void.
Understand me?
You can't even touch me.
I consume all in my path,
Destroy all that near,
Until I flicker and die,
Into the ashes.
