HOT DOG TOASTIES
...super cool things to make...

Okay, this is a genuine southern recipe that has been handed down generation from generation in my family. Well, okay, not really, I got it out of a book called Cooking with Kids. But I do make them a lot. So if you would like to experience a little bit of what I experience, you can make some too. Let's go!
BTW, "Hot Dog Toasties" are what we call them, in the book they're called Toasty Hot Dog Roll-ups..but yeah..you know what I mean.

Materials:

8 hot dogs
8 slices of bread
4 slices of cheese
mustard
stick of butter
pastry brush
cookie sheet
toothpicks

Directions:

Preheat your convential oven to 375 degrees.
Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat.
Place the slices of bread on the cookie sheet.
Brush about half of the butter over the bread slices, using a pastry brush.
Spread 2 teaspoons of mustard on each piece of bread
Cut the 4 slices of cheese in half (diagonally) so you have 8 cheese triangles.
Put one on each piece of bread.
Place a hot dog on each of the cheese triangles.
Fold each slice of bread over the hot dog to make a triangle shape. Fasten with 2 toothpicks, one on each side, poking them through the bread and hot dog.
Brush the outsides of the bread with the rest of the butter.
Bake 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Take 'em out, let 'em cool, and eat 'em up! :-D

I usually serve these on decorative plates with pretzels (they are healthier than the common potato chip.) But I'm no Martha Stewart. Be creative as you like! And if you don't want 8 of them, you can do as many as you want to, I'm sure you could modify the directions so it would be right, unless you're stupid or something.
