Ok, guys. The first thing you should think about is the type of girl you are going out with. Is she deep or shallow? Romantic or realist? Stupid or smart? You should probably know these things before you go on a date. Because what if you asked a girl out, who was a stupid shallow realist, and you wore a turquoise tux (which is a smart shallow romantic ensemble)? That would be a disaster if I've ever seen one.

So your outfit should be something that you think would fit the girl. I mean, not literally like fit her, like if she put it on..but fit her personality, y'know? Once you have picked out the perfect set of clothing, you are ready to work on something a lot less important. Your hair.

Contrary to popular belief, some guys spend a lot more time on their hair than girls do. I think this is rather silly, but if you would like to make a big deal about those fibers on your head, go ahead I don't really notice hair that much except if it's too short. DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR CUT RIGHT BEFORE YOUR DATE! That is a huge faux pas. That just-cut look just doesn't do it for me. Hair needs to look comfortable and lived in, if you know what I mean. It's what I call scruff appeal.

So now you've decided on your outfit and your hairstyle, you need to get yourself in the shower. Unfortunately the scruff appeal factor does not work the same way with smell. Guys who smell good are like diamonds in the rough, because we all know about that reputation the whole male gender has for smelling bad. This does not mean you should take a bath in cologne. It's that simple soap smell that is the best. And some guys just naturally smell nice. But if you know you have an odor problem, or your name is Bradley Barrell, you might want to use a *little* cologne.

After you take your shower, you should examine your face in the mirror. Are those disgusting facial hairs I see? You probably need to shave. If you're feeling adventurous and you think your girl is a big believer in scruff appeal you might want to keep a little hair there, but in most cases cleanly shaven guys are more attractive. Do you know anyone who has ever had a longing to kiss Abe Lincoln? I didn't think so.

Ok! You have the outfit, the hair, the smell..what is missing? Accesories! So, go to the mall and find that perfect little purse! ....Ha, yeah I'm just kidding. Guys don't need accesories. Jewelry, you ask? No. Masculine bags? No. Hair pick? Definitely not. So, if you feel put together enough without anything extra, that's fabulous.

Ok! Now is the time to put the whole thing together. Put on your clothes! Tie your shoes! Get your wallet! Give yourself a hug! You look and feel spiffy. As long as you manage not to do anything stupid on your date, I'm sure you'll be fine. Be cool, be stylish, but overall, be yourself! Hehe. Unless you're a loser. But hey, even if you are, you'll be a loser with scruff appeal!
