you killed my rainforest
made extinct my feelings of hope
across me you built bridges of rope
and razed my forests and polluted my streams
dumped toxins in with backup teams
my frogs have begun to mutate.
you, with your sharp-eyed stare
and tousled hair
kidnapped my princess
out of her stone tower
lured her out, offered her a flower
she never suspected a thing.
you conquered my land
then took me by the hand
led me to your courts
and tried me for treason
without a reason
besides the fact that i loved you.
you ate my cake
but then you thought it was a mistake
it wasn't good enough for you
my icing wasn't sweet
you spit it out at my feet
i should have warned you not to eat it.
you asked me to dance
i thought this was my chance
but you stepped on my feet
though it was a really nice song
it lasted far too long
my toes are still quite swollen.
finally you left me alone
and grew a heart of stone
i guess i knew it was inevitable
each one of these things
is an example of what being with you brings
lots of metaphors and analogies.
poetic comments: uh..er..i dunno. i like
