Noga at lunch

Lunch was tasty pea soup and chicken fajitas. After resting from lunch, we headed to the stables to meet our guide, Abel, to go horseback riding. Francisco and Joey (from Houston) joined us on our ride. Noga got on Majesty, and Ernie was paired with Nike. We rode in a westerly direction through the forest, towards the Mopan River and Guatemala. The horses were on autopilot for the most part; they know where they were headed, but had very nice dispositions. Through cattle pastures with absolutely amazing vistas, past chiclero, mahogany, allspice, guanacaste, fig and an 'Elmer's glue' tree (whose fruit bears a sap that is just like Elmer's glue in ervery way), we rode to a Mayan ruin that once served as a signalling station/ritual ceremony site in the classic Mayan period. Then we rode past palm oil trees, lambs, a mean mule, and iguanas to the Mopan River. On the ride back, we rode past flocks upon flocks of little parrots. Despite the sore rear,  the ride was just spectacular.
