EASTER

ABOUT EASTER
Jesus Christ died on a cross on a Friday almost two thousand years ago.
Chritians believe that on the following Sunday, Christ rose from the dead, proving that He is the son of God.
The day Jesus died is Good Friday. The following Sunday is Easter.
Easter is celebrated any Sunday between March 22nd and April 25th.
Religious celebrations include family gatherings and special Easter Church services.
Easter coincides with Spring festivals celebrating birth of new life after Winter. This is where Easter symbols of rabbits and eggs come in.

Easter Traditions
In the U.K. and the U.S.A., Children say the Easter Bunny brings and hides the eggs at Easter. It is traditional to decorate hard boiled eggs. In the U.K., children roll their Easter eggs down a hill to symbolise Jesus awakening and rolling a rock away from the cave in which he lay.

Easter Lesson
I like to use Flashcards to introduce Easter vocabulary. We then like to make Easter baskets and then I hide plastic candy filled eggs for the students to find. Students have really enjoyed this activity.
