has accelerated the small group process for the Effingham County
Operation Snowball Weekends since it's debut in 2003.
This test of the physical and mental stamina of participants and tries to push the envelope early, challenging participants and staff members alike to accomplish a wide array of tasks of varying difficulty levels and time restraints on the first night of camp. The tasks vary year to year yet they still encourage team work, proper time management, advancement of leadership skills, utilization of effective communication, and creative thinking while still having fun in the process. This accelerated course has been found to allow groups to bond sooner. This has aided some groups to have more participant interaction in small group discussions earlier in the weekend. This also gives the participants a chance to discover their strengths and weaknesses earlier and through discussion and general sessions, learn skills to improve their weaknesses while highlighting their strengths. |
