The following data was recorded from subjects in the 6th grade. The data was taken to find the number of words a subject could recall correctly. Each row is a different test subject, which corresponds to the ‘Without-Gum Test Results’. A number in a word column indicates the order in which the subject repeated this word; i.e. 3 means that the subjects said this word third. The column 'total' refers to the sum of the number of words which the subject repeated correctly.
