Washington’s world-renowned cherry trees officially experienced their peak bloom

on April 9, 2005.  Early that morning, I decided to try to take some predawn snapshots.

A few days later, I went back to take some digital pics.  By this time, the blossoms were noticeably past their peak,

and leaves were starting to emerge.
