At the Victoria Peak, overlooking the scene of HongKong
HOngKong was an unforgettable place for both me and my auntie in particular. Not only that we went there alone.. yes.. Just the TWO of us ! But the trip itlsef was unplanned at all ! It'a a total adventure. First my auntie went to Malysia, just to check me out ( or that She missed Me sooo much !! :) heheh..) and then that was it. But things roll around and then suddenly it hits us, Hey, HongKong sounds like a lot of fun ! And so we're right.
We choose to stay at Tsim Tsa Tshui road, which is the "heaven" street for shopping maniacs (i guess that include US *sigh* ) at Kowloon. One thing that's so cool about HK is that it has a huge and i mean HUGE trasportation coverage. You can literary get to one island to another by an Octopus LRT. It takes about 3 hours or so in going to Lantau Island, which was hundreds and hundreds miles away from Kowloon and actualy was a different island, depart from Hongkong Island itself. This make shopping and looking around easy, and fun.
One thing i dislike about HK is... It's Waaaay Too Crowded !! Okay... crowded is fine until you manage to get some air to breathe in public areas, but sometimes on weekend, you'll find yourself squeezed with poeple in an LRT that you can't even move or grab your handphone to answer your calls !! You just stood there, unable to do anything else except wishing that the train stop, somehow. Well, the people of HK are friendly in a way that if ni hwei chiang chang hwa i ( You able to speak Manadarin ). At least they'll respect you a bit. If not, you'll toast. Bargaining is a risky effort and dining is a gambling. You saw a porridge picture, but end up with a fried toad instead. It's tasty though... :) Staying at Hotel is a bit expensive in HongKong, so i suggest to you to get in a cheper lodge for you won't spend much of your time inside the Hotel.
Well, I can get on forever talking about the good points of HongKong, the breath taking view of Causeway Bay at night, the night markets shopping, the floating JUMBO restaurant, the Gigantic statue of Buddha at Lantau Island, the legal horse gambling at HongKong island, the amazing Victoria Peak, etc. etc.
One thing i recommend though, always check the season in HK before you actualy visit it !! |
