Top 7 Myths About PR/Marketing Campaigns:

1. Marketing should be entertaining. Not always. Marketing should result in product or service sales, not just amusement.
2. You should keep marketing copywriting short. Wrong. Folks who are interested WILL in fact read what you have to say.
3. You need to change your marketing copy often. Wrong. If a marketing promotion or campaign is working, no matter how bored out of your mind you and your staff are with the promo, DO_NOT_STOP_IT.
4. Bad PR is better than No PR. Wrong.
5. 7 impressions is enough. Nope. Surveys show that sometimes it takes up to 29 impressions to bring a potential buyer to action.
6. "The product will sell itself." not always... Folks need a reason WHY they should buy your product or service. Give it to them.
7. Cute ads are rememberable. Yes, but how many cute ads do you remember, but can't or don't recall product was being marketed?
