| The Chandra F. Pleasant Memorial Scholarship is a $500, non-renewable scholarship fund dedicated to the memory of Chandra F. Pleasant. The scholarship is given yearly to a deserving female college students at the University of Memphis based on scholarship, leadership, and service. Criteria: - Must be a full-time student at the University of Memphis (any major is acceptable) - Must be a minority female - Must have a 2.5 GPA or better - Must be attending the University of Memphis in the Fall of 2003 - Must include an official transcript (signed and sealed) - The application must be typed - Must have a letter of recommendation from a University of Memphis professor - Must include a typed essay (500 words or less) on �As a woman, how are you exceeding excellence?� For more information, please contact: Tameka Woodley, Scholarship Chair (901) 309-2327 The scholarship recipient will be announced at the 2003 Prominent Black Women's Banquet held on Sunday, February 2, 2003 in the University Center Ballroom. |
