The Road Rovers!
They're not always perfect.
Actually, to be honest, they never were.
This page is specifically for those Road Rover fans who, when they watch the show, keep seeing animation mistakes or plot fluxes. Well, this is the place to reveal them! This site will continuously be updated as I have not yet reviewed closely at every episode for all the mistakes, but if you see some you think I've missed, please e-mail me at [email protected]. So...
"Let's Hit the Road" (part 1, for those really serious people)
- Near the beginning, when the dogs are first recruited, while Blitz is growling at the car burglar, his body isn't his normal color, it's the Road Rover body armor color.
- Where did the Rovers know where to go when the Master called on them? Not all of them could have run there, and they certainly couldn't have known where the tunnels were (unless there was some cut out scene that shows the Master giving them instructions!). Also, where did that light come from?!?
- While the dogs are going to the RR headquarters, they slide through tubes. When the "camera" shows the entire structure, there are no such tubes.
- While Hunter says "Ah, check please!", there is an extra line drawn on his face. It happens quickly, so to catch it you'll have to look carefully.
- When the Rovers are trying to get out of the compound because they don't want to lose their lives, Shag, Exile, and Hunter are trying to get in the compound while as Colleen and Blitz are actually trying to get out.
- Where did Hunter and Shag get the explosives from? If from the car, wow, the Master thinks of everything possible!
- When Parvo says "I'm having one of those funny dejavu feelings" and the counter says he has three seconds prior to the explosion, Parvo speaks for four-five seconds.
- Parvo doesn't have any scarring after the bomb explodes in his face?
- How did the Master manage for all of the World leaders to adopt dogs all at the same time and all from the same person?
"Storm From the Pacific"
- When Colleen is feeding Muzzle with the spoons, Muzzle's head is much larger than Colleen's.
- Before the commercial break, the enemy choppers fired two lasers at a time. After the break they shot three.
- Hunter states "You must be Sticky, or are you Wicket?" He points to two different people when it suggests he should only be pointing at one.
- The satellite's lasers didn't seem to penetrate any ground...
- While talking to Storm, when Hunter talks about the Cleveland Browns, he's standing. The next scene he's sitting. Soon after that he's standing again. He must be excersizing his legs or something...
- When the lava is about to overcome the Rovers, it seeps in. The animation in the back suggests that a large door blocked the lava, thus the lava should have poured in instead of seeping on the ground.
- Only two people ran out of the original control room after Muzzle trashed the place. In his new "control room", all of Storm's henchmen were hurt by Muzzle.
- Hunter called the ship in the sea the "Ocean Rover" when at the beginning of the episode he called it the "Sub Rover".
- Blitz and Colleen "dive" into the Sub Rover when the lava is flowing. How could they possibly aim correctly? And how could they land properly? Well, Colleen we could understand but Blitz is a different story...
- (not sure about this one) The island didn't have any cliffs to fall over.
- While Hunter is stuck on the cliff with Muzzle, the animation showed that the lava was over their heads. After Shag saves them, the lava is merely pouring over the side.
"A Hair of the Dog That Bit You"
- Why did Colleen change back when she was at RRHQ? Apparently everyone else who was scratched stayed in their wolf form until they were rescued.
- How could Hunter tell which wolf was Colleen?
- Why did "werewolf Colleen" change from normal four-legged werewolf to cano-sapien two-legged werewolf after being thrown against the rock?
- (From Scott) In the plane, when Colleen was transforming into a wolf, her entire armor was ripped to shreds. When Hunter "revived" her, her armor was perfectly intact and back on again.
- One of the people who transformed from wolf to their original selves near the end transformed backwards (the head went to the otherside)
- Shag's fur-HOW do people pop heads through the middle of his body?
- The timing of Professor Hubert's sniffing tests seem a bit off... a little bit after he started in the night and he's in the b's, and when morning comes around he's w's... unless they go to bed at 9, the werewolf incident happened at 9:30 or something...
- How exactly does Colleen (as a werewolf) scratched up the insides of Exile's room and still manage to be outside the room when the other Rovers come around... or manage for Exile NOT to hear her scratching...
"Where Rovers Dare"
- When Colleen and Hunter are on those snow boards going up to the Burrow Tank Rover, for an instant, Colleen and Hunter's colors switch places.
- (From Krankor) As the Burrow Tank Rover is dodging the laser fires, Colleen and Hunter have a little chat (the conversation starts with Colleen's "The EPA's not gonna like this"). During that conversation, if you notice the back, the tank has already had a hole in the back, but really the hole was made AFTER Colleen and Hunter's conversation.
- When the soldier fires at the Rovers in the night, Blitz is drawn with a tail. So is the soldier imagining things? But if he were, how could he know exactly what they look like?
- When the Road Rovers are taking cover in the house, after taking care of the sick wolf, Blitz sees the tanks coming and looks back at the Rovers snacking on the biscuits. When he does, if you look closely, you'll see all of the Rovers except for Exile. The colors for Exile were made so that he would look like Blitz.
- When the Rovers jumped out of the truck that was stuck in the snow, how did they all jump to the front area then come out the front doors? Isn't it just easier to jump out of the back?
- How CAN Hunter be leader when he's so oblivious to threats? What a great leader eh?
- How did Hunter know Havoc's name? One could argue he knew it when Lt. Skeam said it.
- The canyon where the Rovers are caught by Havoc is drawn funnily. At first, there is a cliff where the helicopters come out. Later on, after the wolves come out on the multitudes of canyons that seemed to have appeared out of nowhere, there is no such cliff, and the entire land is closed in.
"Let Sleeping Dogs Lie"
- When the Master is going through the items the ninjas stole, he never mentions or shows the item that the ninja had stolen from the museum.
- How does scanning all the devices locate the site that Parvo was looking for? Aren't those artifacts ancient? They don't have micro devices in them.

"The Dog Who Knew Too Much"
- (From Maxx29) When Colleen talks to Sport at the beginning in the Rover car, the coloring for Blitz sitting in the backseat is actually for Hunter, but Hunter is in the front seat
- Before the commercial break, in the jet, the seating order is (from right to left, front to back) Hunter, Colleen, Shag, Sport, Exile, and Blitz. After the commercials, Shag and Sport switch places.
- When on earth did Sport and Parvo have the time to chat and give away a tracking device?
More coming soon!
"Hunter's Heroes"
- Colleen is really tiny enough to hide on Shag's back for at least an hour? Wow!
- So is Shag in his original canine form or has he been transdogmafied before going in?
- When Hunter, Exile, and Blitz enter the guard barracks, the animation showed that the tile they lifted had nails going into the ground. the tile shouldn't have opened like a door.
- Weren't there a lot of guards aiming their guns at the Rovers? The chases only depicted about five or six.
- What WAS the room the Groomer got stuck in for?
- When the power is knocked out, the bars holding the dogs captive were not lasers, they were actual bars. At the beginning, when Colleen was trying to get herself and Shag out, the bars were all lasers.
- When Shag was stuck, in the hole, the first time you see him he's outside the barracks. The second time you see him (when the guard sees him) he's inside the barracks. The third time you see him, he's leading the other dogs into the laser beams?
- Shag loses his haircut several times after his encounter with the Groomer.
More coming soon!
"Still a Few Bugs In the System"
- Reused scene: when Muzzle is done with his work, he's lying down on a broken computer, the same as what was used in "Storm From the Pacific".
- What would Parvo do with the Broadway show if he had invested interest? A hypnotic suggestion at each performance?
More coming soon!
"Dawn of the Groomer" (part 2)
- Before the Rovers intercept the Groomer's hideout, it is nighttime. When they run out to their jet, it's daytime.
- Wasn't the jet damaged beforehand? How could they escape with the same vehicle? One could argue, however, that Exile fixed it...
- After one year, Parvo is still mourning over the Groomer's betrayal? How come he hasn't completely suffocated with his coughing?
- With the helmet on, Parvo had one human ear and one covered. Without the helmet, he has two cat ears.
More coming soon!
"Gold and Retreivers"
- How did Luka find his way back after Oso was taken by the pirahnas?
- After Blitz accidentily shoots the other Rover boat, Shag, Colleen, and Hunter are dripping wet. Blitz is also shown dripping.
- The flames that the "monsters" were going to be destroyed in is much too large for comfort in your own village.
- One could argue that the Rovers didn't do their job. They sorta left when Oso got his wish, and even then they weren't in incredible danger nor had they completely shut down Parvo's gold mining.
- Muzzle can't talk, can he? So why does he join in on the Rover's "It's lunch time!" at the end of the show?
More coming soon!
"Take Me To Your Leader"
- There are many instances where the first part showed daylight and the next showed night.
- Before the UFO arrives at the camp, the Rovers are sleeping in a kennel. When the US President opens his cabin, Hunter walks out with him.
- After the UFO incident, all the Rovers go back to their owner's cabins. Weren't they in a kennel before?
- When Storm claims on planting the devices on the leaders of the world, why was all of the leaders sleeping at the same time? Aren't there different time zones?
- And plus, no leader is out watching the eclipse?
- Even still, the eclipse is happening over all of their countries? At the same time?
More coming soon!
"Reigning Cats and Dogs" (part 3)
- How did Parvo and the Groomer know when their artifact was discovered?
- Fluffy and the dalmation are back? Since when?
- How did the Master get the Rovers back to the present if he wasn't at Parvo's hideout?
- Doesn't the Master have a wish to see his family again?
More coming soon!
"A Day In The Life"
- At 6:10, Shag's clock still said 6:00.
- The way the Rovers were going into the building, they would have been easily caught.
- Wouldn't the government sent FBI or the CIA to fetch the hostages, not wait on dogs who were sleeping in the morning?
- How did Hunter get his hands on a picture of his mother?
- A quick stop to Wyoming takes two hours?
- Exile said they would pick up Hunter in an hour. When they were heading towards Wyoming, the time said that an hour and 15 minutes had passed.
Micellaneous
- About the Thrillogy ("Let's Hit the Road", "Dawn Of the Groomer", and "Reigning Cats and Dogs"). If this entire story were true, then wouldn't all these people involved with the actually time traveling age eventually?
- And still, the Groomer would theorhetically know about Parvo's cat nature from the start. So why was she so shocked about it in "Dawn Of the Groomer"?
- Even more so, Parvo and the Groomer would know about the Road Rovers before the first episode. If THAT'S so, then how come they didn't know who they were in the first episode?
- Where did the Master get all the tools and equipment to build all the nifty vehicles?
- One must wonder how Muzzle makes his comrades sick, leaves the baddies running away with torn clothes and bruises, and he has a full stomach.
Well, there you go. Hope you enjoy it. And if you think I've missed something (but I haven't quite finished this page yet so there are still things yet to come) please e-mail me at [email protected].
