7 Deadly Questions - Jayme Future
Q1 - What is your favourite EDW show?

Part of me wants to say EDW 1, just because it was an incredible thing for me personally, but from top to bottom, it's kind of hard to go against EDW 8. The X Division 3 way wasn't bad, Virus and V.E.R.N. had a match that, while not great as a match, saw both of them do some incredible things. My match with Wreckage was a sense of personal accomplishment, as it was my first match with a new style with someone I never wrestled before, and it was good. The aim was to have a match that was better as a match than just individual big moves, and the excitement of the crowd during the match tells me we were successful. And Ice Vs. KO was damn good as well, although both would later have a better match at EDW 13, this was a lot of fun to watch. So while other shows had better individual matches, no show had top to bottom what EDW 8 did.

Q2 - What do you think about your character?

I'm still trying to iron out the creases of the changes...wrestling as a heel in this new style, but I think that, over the course of the next couple of shows, I am gonna try to turn the volume way up. If I get the chance to do what I really want to, the character of Jayme Future has yet to hit it's peak. I am capable of far more than I think I have accomplished in speaking roles, and the next few shows hopefully will give me the opportunity to do so.

Q3 - Who are your influences/inspirations as a wrestler?

It changes as time goes on. At EDW 1, I was hugely fond of Tajiri, which is why I brought the kicks to EDW 1, and they got over great, just because it was different. RVD too, as the type of matches he was having were the original blueprint of what Jayme Future was to be. Nowadays, over the last year or so, it's been Shawn Michaels, just because he is, in my opinion, the best wrestler of the 90's. And while he would do spectacular things, it was his matches that were the focus, hence the change in direction for my wrestling style.

Q4 - What is your favourite match featuring you?

I don't think I've had it yet. The value of accomplishment in Kash Flow Vs. Jayme Future at EDW 1 was cool, but the match was based on visual excitement, and as that match was largely influencial, it led to others upping their game, and outdoing what we pioneered in terms of visual excitement. The crowd reaction made it even better, which is another plus to the match. It's still special as it was the first of it's kind, and in that respect it will always stand by itself, but I wouldn't say it's my favourite. In a way, it can be compared to the WrestleMania X ladder match, in that at it's time it was out of this world, but time has led to people doing bigger things, which makes the original seem like a watered down version. I've had pretty good matches with Scot, but don't think we've had that all-out blowaway match yet. The matches with Wreckage also are really good, and always something different. Again, I think him and I could have a mind-blowing match, and it'll come soon.

Q5 - What is your favourite EDW match ever?

That's tough. There have been so many, it's hard to narrow it down to one, so I'll list ones that stand out in my mind. Wreckage Vs. Scot from EDW 6 was real good, but tarnished a little by the execution of the finish, but the intensity of the crowd was incredible. Virus Vs. Ice from EDW 7 was another good one, although as a match it had some flaws, but was undeniably fun in the highspot parts of the match. And, a dark horse, Wreckage Vs. KO Kid from EDW 11. Wasn't by any means a picture-perfect type of match, but it flowed better than most matches EDW matches do, and it was exciting to be in the crowd for that one.

Q6 - Who is your favourite opponent(s)?

Wreckage is high on the list. Whenever we wrestle, it's just so easy to come up with cool and exciting things to do, and the crowd always eats it up, and we always do different things. I think we've had three really strong matches, and an all-time EDW classic is around the corner. Scot is another favourite of mine, and again, we've had a lot of pretty good ones over the years, but haven't had that classic, although the match at EDW 12 was very good. KO Kid is another one I like wrestling, because it's not a challenge at all to wrestle him, and he's up for anything.

Q7 - Who would you like to wrestle in the future?

To be honest, anybody. The way Jayme Future has changed as a wrestler and character makes me more versatile than ever. I want to wrestle Wreckage some more, because the chemistry and crowd reaction when we wrestle is so good. A five star match with Scot is just waiting to happen. I also want to wrestle Virus with me as a heel and him as a babyface, because Virus is better than he ever was, and I think we could do some new things. All in all, the Future...(damn pun!)...looks promising.
