| Scot Williams Vs. Wreckage Counting down to the biggest match in EDW history, at the biggest show in EDW history, EDW10 |
| This match is a lot of different things for different people. For Scot Williams, this is the shadow that has followed him around since he finally won the title at EDW6, and his chance to remove that, as well as any doubt there may be that he is the best champion EDW has ever had. For Wreckage, there is the accomplishment he has longed for since his EDW arrival, that at times seemed so far away, the EDW Title, and the personal dislike for Scot, the need he feels to prove that he is better than him. The EDW Locker room will be watching with baited breath. EDW owner Mr. Edwards, as well as V.E.R.N. will be watching every step of the way, hoping that Scot can keep the title within the Immortals grasp. EDW fans will be screaming for their favourite, Wreckage, cheering him, hoping that he can realise his dream. However, there is one thing that is the same about this match for everybody it is the most important match in EDW history. .:The History:. Scots road to the title was a long, arduous one, filled with years of hard work. There is no doubting his passion for the role he has now. He was willing to go against what many believed were his principles, by selling out to Edwards, in order to guarantee the title he was chasing for over five years. Wreckage disappeared, for what appeared to for good, shortly after EDW2, but made a grand return at EDW5, and continued where he left off by chasing the EDW Title, and, as a result, getting screwed by Scot Williams and Edwards at EDW6. The screwing of Wreckage only added fuel to the fire, and Wreckage has been on Scots trail since then, defeating Jayme Future for what, then, appeared to be the number one contendership at EDW8, being denied by mere seconds at EDW9 in the Inaugural War, before finally getting the one on one match made by KO(mmissioner) Kid at the end of EDW9. It may very well be all or nothing for Wreckage. For Scot, he needs a victory over Wreckage to solidify his status as the top man in EDW. Everything is on the line for both men. .:The Match:. Leading up to EDW10, it is likely both men will come prepared. Here are, what I think, should be both mens mindsets and strategies: Scot Williams: - Keep the match on the ground. Scots major strength would appear to be wrestling skill, which Ice has in droves. If he can make it a submission style match, you have to believe that the advantage is Scots - Think. We have seen in the past how hasty Scot can be, and how he will take a chance without batting an eyelid, in hopes of doing damage to the opponent. This is a match in which he should not do that. He needs to be cautious throughout, and beware of how something can go wrong, as well as how it can go right. - Use the champions advantage. Youve heard it a thousand times, the challenger has to beat the champion, the champion does not have to beat him. Scot can afford to hold off the risky moves, and let Wreckage make mistakes, as Wreckage is the one climbing the mountain, not Scot. Scot can let Wreckage do things out of instinct that may backfire, for example, the top rope elbow Wreckage has missed before, and work from there. - Target the ankle. Scots Ice Pick (ankle lock) is a deadly weapon. Work on the ankle, as thats will slow Wreckages high fuelled brawling style considerably, allowing Scot time to think. Keep in mind the kick to gut that is followed by Wreckages stunner, as this is a great opportunity to lock on that Ice Pick. - Study Wreckages moveset. There are moves in Wreckages repertoire that are tried and tested, and he will try and use in a match like this one. Preparation is a huge factor for Scot, as, if he knows what is coming, he has a better idea of how to escape/counter. Wreckage: - Keep the match standing. Wreckage will fare better in this match is it a battle of fists and impact moves. Keeping away from ground wrestling, one of Scots advantages, may be vital. - Anger Scot. We have seen Scot go off of emotion and instinct before, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. But if you take Scot off his game plan, he is more likely to go off emotion, and pull moves out, such as his Whisper In The Wind, which Wreckage can avoid, and allow Scot to make the mistake, which can then be capitalised on. - Use the stunner with the element of surprise. If Scot can see the pre-stunner kick coming, hes no fool, hell lock on the Ice Pick. However, if he hits the stunner unexpectedly, maybe as a countermove, then it will be harder for Scot to defend, and will be used to maximum effectiveness. - Unpredictability. Scot will come prepared, because he cares about his position as champion so much. He will know Wreckages arsenal. Best thing Wreckage can do is throw some stuff in there that Scot will not expect, and be less prepared to counter. - Beware of the Immortals. In a match of this magnitude, Edwards will not come into this carelessly. He has a vested interest in Scot winning, and as weve seen before, he will pull something from up his sleeve in order for Scot to leave as champion. .:The Verdict:. Its hard to say at this point who will win. Wreckages never say die attitude will be magnified a hundred times on this night, and Scot will have to throw everything at Wreckage to beat him. However, weve seen Scot go to extreme measures in the past in an attempt to get the job done, which will also be magnified. Both have strengths and weaknesses, and nothing is guaranteed on this grand a stage. Nothing except the fact that, by the end of the match, the face of EDW will have changed like never before. |
