An Educational History
OLL is a very small school, I graduated in 1993 with only 20 other students in the class. I spent K-8 here, pretty much with the same class. Of course some people came, and some went, but I grew up with the same 20 or so rotten kids. I guess I had fun here...I made fun of people on the bus, got beat up in the bathroom, got a demerit for chewing gum in Art class...and oh yeah, less I forget that I was Valedictorian of the 8th grade class (but, take into consideration that there were only 21 people).
Definitely one of the finest Catholic High Schools on Long Island! Some say that High School is the best four years of your life, and I'm one of those people who really enjoyed it. I guess you can say I was a good student (when I wasn't getting something called "science detention" or bombing a Sequential Math II). I was involved in lots of stuff here....Freshman and Varsity Cheerleading probably got the most of my attention, but there are a bunch of other things that occupied some of my time that are listed underneath my picture in the yearbook. Here I met a slew of inspirational teachers that I still go back and visit every once and again, as well as my "crowd" of friends that I still hang out with today!
Here I was dually enrolled at the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education as an English Education major, which means that I am certified to teach Secondary English (Middle and High School....yippie!!!) I graduated with a BA in May 13, 2001. I originally came to Syracuse with an interest in Psychology, but after my introductory class (PSY 205) I was absolutely horrified and switched out of that major almost immediately. Here I became involved with lots of "stuff"...I was a member of the SU Marching Band, the Sour Sitrus Society, Tau Beta Sigma, Pi Beta Phi, I was a DJ and morning show hostess for WJPZ and I even was a member of the 2001 Homecoming Court. I have plans to visit "the Hill" at least once a year for Homecoming and spend valuable time with my friends (and fellow lushes) at Faegans!
