School Philosophy
Home
Our school's philosophy is that all our students will receive a free and appropriate education (FAPE) to the fullest extent of the law. Our goal is to provide our students with a least restrictive environment (LRE) to meet their educational needs. We believe that inclusion is neccessary to provide appropriate education for all students regardless of their disabilities and without stigma or discrimination. Our teachers will collaborate and co-teach, following the guidelines provided by the highly qualified requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001. This "pilot school" will allow open enrollment to our population of students who have an IEP, having learning disabilities or are gifted students. Our mission is to address the issues of these groups of students face and provide a school environment that will promote personal development to the fullest extent of the individual's potential. Our goal is to provide instruction sufficient to develop the skills and knowledge our students need to meet the California standards.

Our teachers will:

1) Engage and support all students in learning,

2) Create and maintain an effective environment to promote student learning,

3) Understand and organize the subject matter for student learning,

4) Plan, instruct, and design learning experiences for all students,

5) Assess student learning, and

6) Develop as a professional educator.
