State Brochure

 

Introduction: Many times students know a lot about the state that they live in, but when it comes to the other 50 states, they know very little.  This webquest will help you learn some basic information about the other 49 states that make up this great country.

 

Directions:  Visit these three websites to find the information below.

Information you need to find:

    • Find and copy a state outline (map),  

      either one of the U.S. with your state

      a different color or just your state

      map (outline).

    • Name the state capital

    • Economy: list at least 4 ways the state

      makes money

    • Who is the state Governor?

    • What year did this state enter the

      Union?

    • List 4 different major points of

      interest and include a picture of each

      one.

    • List at least 4 state symbols and

      include a picture of each one.

    • State nickname

    • What is the land area? (in km)

    • List 3 famous natives and why they are

      famous.

 

 

Assignment:  Once you find all of this information, use Microsoft Publisher to make a brochure about your state.  Make sure you include all the information and pictures you found.
