| XAVIER SCHOOL'S ACTION PLANS FOR PEACE General Objectives: To foster peace through different activities, To promote unity, To instill the values of Xavier (Compassion, Competence, Character, Culture, Community, Conscience), To instill responsibility in the following areas: BODY, SPIRIT, COUNTRY, ENVIRONMENT First Activity LeadershipTraining Seminars Objectives: To maintain a strong and healthy relationship between the grade school and high school communities, To foster the value of being men for others in our school�s young leaders What is it? Seminar for both Grade school and High school (class officers), Will tackle cooperation, Christian Leadership, service and both Grade school and High school affairs, TIME: Summer or the First Month of the school year Departments Involved: Student Affairs Office, GS & HS Student Councils, Other Major Organizations Second Activity Literary Compilations Objectives: To promote peace awareness among students using literature, To showcase the literary talents of Xaverians What is it? A compilation of literary pieces (poems, stories, essays etc.) focusing on peace and other related topics. The compilation will be distributed to the whole school, The best pieces will receive prizes, TIME: January-February Departments Involved: English and Filipino Departments, Student Affairs Office Third Activity Variety Show (fund raiser) Objectives: Raise funds for our less fortunate brothers and sisters, Promote unity among students, Showcase the talents of students What is it? Variety show, plain and simple, Showcasing talents of Xaverians in the form of bands, dance troupes, fashion shows, etc., TIME: November - December Departments Involved: Student Affairs Office, GS & HS Student Councils, Service Program Fourth Activity Environmental Awarness Program Objectives: Promote environmental awareness through the involvement of all students, Instill the responsibility to the environment What is it? A year-round program wherein the students are tasked to clean-up various places in school, One class per week will be tasked, TIME: Whole Year Departments Involved: Science Department, Service Program, Student Affairs Office Fifth Activity Objectives: To give spiritual enlightenment and counsel to students therefore, promoting harmony and peace in our school, To promote Christian values, To promote trust and brotherhood among Xaverians What is it? Twice a month meeting of prayer cell groups wherein students are given the time to intimately share their feelings and reflect on their lives through prayer and talks with prayer cell guides , Journal-writing or other related outputs will be done, TIME: Whole Year Departments Involved: Christian Life Education and Guidance Departments, Student Affairs Office, Campus Ministry Office, Various Religious Organizations (YFC, YCLC, Peer Counseling, etc.) Visit the XAVIER Homepage |
