On February 1-2, 2002, delegates from the EDSA-Ortigas Consortium of Schools ("EDSOR"): Immaculate Conception Academy, (ICA), Poveda Learning Centre (PLC), La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) and Xavier School (XS) participated in the EDSOR Leadership for Peace Conference, which Xavier School hosted this year. The aim of this 2-day conference was to train and develop the participants' to be good and able leaders.

The conference had four main modules: Responsibility for My Body, Responsibility for My Spirit, Responsibility for My Country and Responsibility for The Earth.

First, in Responsibility for My Body, the participants had activities that related to taking care of their bodies. Then in Responsibility for My Spirit, the students undertook activities that showed them how to enrich their faith and spirit. In Responsibility for My Country, they were given activities that showed them how to be good citizens of our country. Finally, in Responsibility for The Earth, the participants joined activities that showed them how they should respect and care for the Earth.

Aside from these modules, they also had a lot of other activities, like cooking classes, chinese lantern making, games that built teamwork and an activity called the "Bantay Kalikasan".

To show what they have learned during the conference, the participants were grouped by schools in the last two activities. The first activity was for them to formulate an action plan for their respective schools applying all the skills they learned during the conference. The second activity was to make a :"Peace Marker" that they would be bringing back to their respective schools to remind them always about the values and lessons that they have learned.

Before the closing ceremonies, an anticipated mass was held at the MPC of Xavier. The mass was held by Fr. Johnny Go, SJ, the Director of Xavier School. He gave a homily that was very meaningful for the participants. The homily said that, instead of being leaders who push, they should be leades who pull their followers.

In short, the conference was a very enriching and educational activity that helped to make the participants better leaders not only in their homes and schools, but also in their community and country. The conference also helped to build goodwill and foster better relationships among the students from the four EDSOR schools.
