                                       CONSTRUCTION NOTES
The best advice I can give you with this or any other project is to read the plans at least three times before starting, measure twice and cut once. If in doubt contact some one on the BYYB bulletin board. We are always glad to help. Be sure to always dry fit all parts before gluing, this will save you a lot of bad headaches.
The first thing I did was to make the Stem the same angle as the deck. This will eliminate the wedge called for in the plans.Be sure to leave extra wood on the Stem so you can make adjustments when fitting the Bow Sprite (Jib boom). Fit Bow Sprite and make adjustments to Stem after the Deck has been installed. After fitting the Bow Sprite the remaining excess wood on theStem can be trimmed off.
Make sure you align centerlines to centerlines when assembling bulkheads to bottom and deck, if you don't your hull will be warped. The hardest to align is the Transom, so extreme care must be taken at this point. use clamps before putting in screws, this way adjustments can be easily made.
The second thing I did was to add 1" to the bottom board of the Mast and Dagger Board box, this gives the Mast a rake to the stern. This is necessary with the Gaff rig so it will handle properly.
Be sure to round over all sharp edges on the deck where the cockpit opening is.
