A quick word on the Tech end of things:
After experimenting with a few different graphics programs, I've landed on one clear winner.
Get The GIMP. The GIMP is an open source (and free!) graphics program, and boy, does it work.
Open Source software is sort of the democratic alternative to the big software companies. Google them, and if you hang out on those websites long enough, you might even learn about the Linux, the DIY Operating System, and all of its various flavors.
My original conception of this comic was a pretty analog affair. I thought I'd use computers for lettering, and that's about it. That's different now.
Digital lettering will happen, but so will digital coloring and visual effects. Probably some compositing tricks and background goodies, as I see fit. I have a sack full of tools for this project, and my PC is one of them.
