New Year's Eve 1997/1998
Back in The Starling, Pinner Green for another New Year's Eve. Same table, same people - exept there was no Matt this year, but we did have Neil instead! The next day was to be Dan's 21st birthday. Instead of a porn mag with naked men in it, we got him a birthday card with a pair of breasts on it. Much amusement was had with this card.
Jon's cosmetic surgery was more 2 dimensional than he had hoped; An obscene display of naked flesh - me and Neil; Moshing to the Prodigy's "Breathe" sometime before midnight; Moshing to Bon Jovi's "You Give Love A Bad Name" towards the end of the night; Dan ran away (wuss!), so we did to his bike what we were going to do to him.
The following New Year's Eve (1998/99) was crap. Determind not to go back to The Starling, Dan and I, with Mark this time, spent ages looking for places that weren't ticket only. The went round Pinner and Harrow, but the only place that wasn't ticket only was the Moon on the Hill. We drank Guinness Extra Cold (except Mark because he's a wuss). We went back to my house in Pinner and watched a bit of telly, then managed to blag ourselves into the Frothfinders & Firkin just before midnight - thanks to Andy being the one of the barmen.
