This is our first interview with some local indie label band from Indonesia. In this first edition we have choosen the drumer of Lain, Bemby because he's soooo talented in music and veryyy chubby and healthy guy (probably the fittest big guy i've ever seen). At the moment he's busy promoting new material with Etalase who already had a number one single in NuBuzz chart Prambors ' Sore'.
� What's on your mind now?
- Thinking about the answer Im about to give to you, hehe.
� When did you start playing drum and why did you decide to play drum?
- around 1985, I was 9 years back then, cause I thought Drum
is the coolest music instrument back then.
� What do you do now?
- I still doin music activities till now, being additional
player to make money, and writing music with Lain and Sore.
� Where and do who you live with right now?
- I live in cipinang jaya II Jakarta, and still living with
my parents.
� Do you think you'll be doing this when you're older?
- Maybe, cause I really love music so much, wheter playin,
writing, arrangin, etc.
� Have you felt yourself to be exploited in any way?
-I think no.
� Do you ever have any crises of conscience about music or just think it
doesn't sound any good?
- Hmmm..... I dont know.....
� Did you worried about alienating Lain fans with the vintage sound of
Etalase?
- Never think that before.
� What was the most embarrassing thing that ever happen to you?
- I never remember it.
� What was the coolest thing that someone has ever given to you?
- Propably my bamboo sword from Junior High School teacher in
Fukuoka, Japan.
� What is your ultimate favourite song off all time, and why you love it so
much?
- Maybe "The Long and Winding Road" by The Beatles, cause I
love the chords, string and the flow of that song, and I always feel
melancholic whenever I heard that song.
� How do you define beauty?
- It needs a lot page of papers to define beauty for me,
cause its really broad and wide to explain it.
� Can you find beauty in the world of tragedy and chaos we live in today?
- Yes, whenever we find someone who really kind from its
heart among the chaos, that's the beauty for me.
� What do you think of the Indonesian music scene right now? Is it getting
worst or improving?
- I think a little bit improving, cause nowdays more
Indonesian people can appreciate a good music and art.
� Which part of Indonesia do you like most?
- I like the the natural world of Indonesia
� If you could do something for the benefit of Indonesian people right now,
- Its difficult, but maybe I would try to take Indonesian
people to appreciate to all kind of thing, cause if someone can really
appreciate something, then they can appreciate life and other people too.
� What or who inspires you at the moment?
- My mother and my grandfather.
� What makes you feel safe?
- When I feel depending on God, not people or myself.
� What's unique about you?
- Well, maybe my music talent, cause I can play instruments,
like drum, guitar, bass, piano, violin, percussion, and harmonica.
� What's your next plan?
-How to improve my life and my music.
