Bed drenched in sweat,
Sheets restricting my arms like manacles,
Pillow slowly suffocating my exhausted breath,
Teddy bear an uncomfortable moist ball clinging to my arm.
Listening to the groan of my useless fan,
I long for a gentle breeze
As the dead recycled air entombs me, thick as stone…
Mocking my jealousy of its lifelessness.
Struggling to find a way
Through the chambered catacombs of my mind.
Stumbling in frustration and heat,
The humidity ripping my temperature apart.
Struggling, always struggling.
Coming no closer, and always struggling. Free Verse Poem: Struggling 1
