I had laced up my shoes,
And had begun to hustle
When a strong wind hit
And the trees started to rustle.
My legs pounded pavement
As I rushed to evade,
But the inclement weather
Would not be betrayed.
This sudden cloudburst,
This random vertical river,
Hit the ground beneath it
Causing the very earth to quiver!
Thousands of miles above me
Yet merely inches behind,
No matter how my intense rate,
It kept me closely confined.
I dashed and sprinted
To escape from its path,
But it apparently wanted
Me inside of its wrath.
The unexpected absurdity
Was so beyond comfortable reality
That I couldnt stop long enough
To ponder this abnormality.
Eventually I caught my wits
Just long enough to review,
To see where it had chased me:
Away from you.
