If I were an onion peeler,
No one would go near you when you would visit town,
For my fingers would smell of onions…
And with your body being the way it is,
Not an inch of you wouldn’t stink.

If I were a famous painter,
People would be annoyed by you,
Because all of my pieces would reflect your beauty.
I’d paint a picture for each time you made me happy,
And resultantly turn you into an icon.

If I were a soldier,
Society would tremble at your mention,
Because I would fight for your honor.
You would fuel my passion,
And then I would be invulnerable.

But since I’m simply a writer,
Everyone who reads my work will turn jealous,
Because everything I scribble will be inspired by you,
And they will realize exactly who I’m in love with:
The most incredible woman on the planet. Free Verse Poem: Onion Peeler 1
