I was once a tree in full blossom
With beautiful green leaves on every branch
But the summer has since left
Taking all my leaves with it

My branches now are bare and cold
A stranger to the vibrant life they once knew
And when weary birds need a rest
They take advantage of my simple perches

I love supporting as many as I can
Although I must admit
The birds that are my favorite
Are the ones that feel most like leaves Free Verse Poem: Bare Tree 1
