James Candler, b. c1756, d. 3 Jan. 1826, Campbell Co, VA was the father of Lucy Candler, Johnson Candler, Daniel Candler, Elizabeth Candler, James Candler, John Candler, and Henry Candler. The first six (and spouses) are selling (for one dollar) this land to their little brother Henry.

twenty six Between Johnson Candler & Lucy his wife Daniel Candler and Milly his wife
William Candler & Elizabeth his wife John Candler James Candler Benjamin Barnard
and Lucy his wife all of Campbell county & state of Virginia of the first part and Henry
Candler of the said county and State of the other part. Wherefore the said Johnson
Candler & Lucy his wife Daniel Candler and Milly his wife William Candler & Elizabeth
his wife John Candler James Candler Benjamin Barnard and Lucy his wife for and in
consideration of the just & full sum of one dollar ______ in hand paid by the said Henry
Candler hath given granted bargained sold released divised and conveyed & doth give
grant bargain sell release devise convey and confirm unto him the said Henry Candler &
his heirs forever one certain tract or piece of land situate in the aforesaid County of
Campbell on the head waters of possum creek and containing by survey one hundred
acres be the same more or less, & and bounded as followeth, Viz. beginning at a
hickory thence N 28 poles to a corner spanish oak thence N 22 E 30 poles to a spanish
oak, thence dividing line S 72 E 276 poles to pointers thence S 15 W 60 poles to a pine
thence thence dividing line N 79 W 272 poles to the beginning to hold to have the
aforesaid land & premises together with all the appurtanances thereunto belonging, to
him the said Henry Candler his heirs & assigns forever the said Johnson Candler & Lucy
his wife Daniel Candler and Milly his wife William Candler & Elizabeth his wife John
Candler James Candler Benjamin Barnard and Lucy his wife do & will forever warrant
& defend unto him the said Henry Candler his heirs & assigns forever against the claim
of them the said Johnson Candler & Lucy his wife Daniel Candler and Milly his wife
William Candler & Elizabeth his wife John Candler James Candler Benjamin Barnard
and Lucy his wife their heirs or the claim of all & every person or persons whatsoever
claiming under by or through them. In witness whereof they have hereunto set their
hands and affixed their seals the date first above written

acknowledgement and relinquishment of dower Thereon _______ and the same was
provided by the affirmation of James Candler and the oaths of Russell Boaz and James
