6.3        FIRE RISK MANAGEMENT - Dave Sinclair:

Last FRMSG Meeting: Our planned networking meeting in Dublin (March 2005) was cancelled. We needed a full meeting to review our Action Plan for this year. Our Action Plan had been endorsed at the Specialist Groups Management Committee but I felt it was important to discuss some observations that had been made and to seek wider ownership of individual actions within it. We also used it as an opportunity to review roles and responsibilities. The Fire Section of the Dublin Branch has had a change of Chair and they remain as enthusiastic as ever. They are planning a Conference in November, and I will pass on details when they become available.

Membership: Now standing at 1234.

Budget: We finished last year below budget. We will continue to charge delegates at Networking Meetings nominal amount to cover the buffet lunch, unless sponsored.

Competence Working Party - NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Risk Management: I reported back in December that it was now with NEBOSH, who were invited to attend our meeting at the end of March to provide an update. We were struck dumb to find out that nothing had happened. NEBOSH were very apologetic and we now have an agreed action plan to get things back on track. This however means that the first exams will not be until June 2006.
