Background History:


I am a first generation college student. My family comes from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a small country in Europe located near Germany.
I was born in the United States, the first person in my family that was not born in Bosnia actually.
Unfortunately had to drop out of Loyola University in 2016 due to financial hardship and overwhelming loan payments.
While working full time for Jewel Osco, I was asked to be a part of the management team in the customer service department.
This allowed me to put away a nice amount of money in order to finish my degree, here at Northeastern.
I am very passionate about my family. Growing up, my house was always full. My grandparents on my father's side had a total of seven children,
all of whom live within a 10 mile radius of my house. My grandmother lives with us in the house, as it is tradition in Bosnian culture to house your parents
if you are the youngest boy child. That being said, my house is the epicenter of my family as everyone comes to visit Grandma. I would not have had it
any other way growing up because this always kept us close as a family.

Jobs Interested in:


I would hope to be a property manager, somewhere in the city of Chicago.
However, considering my previous experience in customer service, I would not mind going back to
Jewel-Osco for a management position. After so many years at such a difficult location ($2,000,000 revenue/week),
I am used to high pressure situations and making sure customers are satisifed.

Short term goals:


I wish to finish my bachelor's degree here from Northeasten Illinois University with a nice GPA.
So far my first semester at Northeastern was incredible, and I finished with a 4.0 GPA.
This semester I decided to test myself by taking five classes instead of four. So far it has been
challenging but not impossible. After my degree, I would like to get a full time job
in the management field somewhere, either property managing or customer service management.

Long term goals:


After establishing myself at a good company, or at a nice location, I will eventually hope to earn
my master's degree, once a bit of money has been saved up. I feel that my previous experience
has primed me well enough, I just need my degrees. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to get a master's degree,
as I would be the first person in my family to do so.

Personal Interests/Hobbies:


I am an avid Arsenal Football Club supporter of the English Premier League. I have been obsessed with soccer ever since I was a young child.
In my free time, I enjoy watching TV and playing video games. My favorite TV show is The Office.
I also dance traditional Bosnian dances, and have been part of a group known as KUD Bosna Chicago for ten years now.
I used to play baseball in high school, but then tore my rotator cuff in my shoulder and sadly had to stop playing.
