I was worried that using a computer printer may not be an acceptable technique for making art prints. However, I found that this technique is acceptable, and I have found several examples, including the inkjet print below by Lyn Bishop.
Lyn Bishop "Gesture" (C) 2000 Color digital inkjet print, edition of 24, 15 x 9.5 inches
I didn't see a price mentioned for this print, but most of the prints by this artist sell for $750.00

An artist could derive additional income from his work if he retains the rights to sell prints after he sells a work of art. Better yet, don't sell the original canvas but only sell prints. I will attempt to sell 20" x 30" photographic prints of my work starting with the two prints shown below. The artist's signature would appear on the body of the painting. "Printed" outside the painting would be the title and the copyright information in very small printing. Then the artist would use an indelible ink pen to number, date and sign the print on the white area below the printed painting.
