Larry Dwayne Nelson, 63, of Hannibal, Missouri, died Friday, September 29, 2006, at the Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.
Larry was born January 15, 1943, near Newark, Missouri to Harry and Alice Spangler Nelson.
He was married to Phyllis Sue Elliot on August 16, 1971, at the home of Rev. Cecil Cox in Louisiana.
Larry is survived by his wife, Phyllis Sue Nelson of Hannibal; two sons, Richard Nelson and wife, Nicky, and Stephen Nelson, both of Bowling Green; one brother, Loren Dale Nelson and wife, Sandra, of Oxford, AZ; one sister, Shirley Jenkins of Owasso, OK; an uncle, Avon Spangler of Canton, IL; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother who died at birth.
Larry graduated from Edina High School in Edina, in 1960. He was employed as a truck driver most of his life. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army in Vietnam. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 2, 2006 and burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Bowling Green, Missouri. |
