Peregrin, or Pippin as he was more commonly known as, was born in the Shire, in 2990 III. His parents were Paladin Took and Eglantine Banks, and he was the youngest of four children.
He had known Frodo most of his life, and together with Sam and Merry he accompanied Frodo on his journey to Rivendell. In Rivendell he was made a member of the Fellowship, but at Parth Galen he and Merry were captured by orcs and carried away. After a while they managed to escaped into Fangorn Forest , where they met the ent Treebeard. They were there at the destruction of Isengard.
After the storming of Isengard, Pippin looked into the Palantr and was questioned by Sauron. Because of this Gandalf took Pippin with him to Minas Tirith. Here Pippin became a guard for the Steward of Gondor; Denethor II. He fought in the final battle in the War of the Ring, and by the people of Minas Tirith he was called  Ernil i Periannath (Prince of the Halflings).
After the War of the Ring, he lived for a while in the house at Crickhollow together with Merry. In year 6 IV he married Diamond og Long Cleves, and they had a son called Faramir I.
In 13 IV Peregrin became the Thain of the Shire.
In 63 IV Pippin and Merry left the Shire and rode to Rohan and Gondor to spend their last years there. When they died their bodies were laid in Rath Dnen alongside the great kings of Gondor.
