| Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) Race: Hobbit Date of birth: 2982 III Death: Between 67 IV and 70 IV Parents: Saradoc Brandybuck and Esmeralda Took Height: Probably around 3� feet, 4� after the War of the Ring Home: Hobbiton, The Shire Other names: Meriadoc the Magnificent, Holdwine, Master Holbyttla, Master Perian Quote: Meriadoc, better known as Merry, was born 2982 III, and his parents were Saradoc Brandybuck and Esmeralda Took. Merry was a close friend of Frodo, and together with Sam and Pippin he accompanied Frodo on his journey to Rivendell. In Rivendell he was selected to join the fellowship, but at Parth Galen he and Pippin got captured by orcs and were carried away. Eventually they managed to escape into Fangorn Forest, and there they met the ent Treebeard. They had a big part in the rousing of the Ents and the destruction of Isengard. At Isengard Merry met King Th�oden of Rohan, and he pledged his service to him. He rode with the Rohirrim to Gondor and fought in the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Together with �owyn he defeated the King of the Nazg�l. After the War of the Ring he lived together with Pippin in the house at Crickhollow. After a while he wedded Estella Bolger, and he was made Master of Buckland. In 63 IV he and Pippin left the Shire and rode to Rohan and Gondor where they spent their last years. When they died their bodies were laid in Rath D�nen, alongside the Great Kings of Gondor. |
