Passed over the sea 120 IV Parents: King Thranduil of Mirkwood Height: 6 feet or more Home: Mirkwood, later Ithilien Quote: Legolas was the son of King Thranduil of Mirkwood, but his date of Birth is unknown. In 3018 III he was sent to Rivendell to tell Elrond the news of Gollum�s escape. In Rivendell he took part of the Council of Elrond, and he was chosen to represent the elves in the Fellowship. After the breaking of the Fellowship, Legolas travelled with Aragorn and Gimli to search for Merry and Pippin. He fought at the Battle of Helms Deep and at the Battle of the Pelennor Fields. Legolas� keen sight and archery skills was of great importance and help to the Fellowship. He became close friends with Gimli the Dwarf, and named him �Elf-friend�. After the War of the Ring he journeyed with Gimli to visit the Glittering Caves and Fangorn Forest. Then he settled down in Ithilien with elves from Mirkwood. When Aragorn died in 120 IV, he finally followed his sea-longing and sailed over the sea. He built a boat and took Gimli with him. (There is also a Legolas Greenleaf in the First Age, in the story of the Fall of Gondolin, but it is not known if this is the same elf.) |
